Why metadata matters
Phone photos often carry GPS, device model, and other fields you may not want in a public post or client handoff. HEICX surfaces that risk in Location and lets you set strip intent in Privacy.
Honest capability note
Conversion removes GPS, device identifiers and embedded thumbnails. For JPEG exports, you may optionally preserve capture time and copyright attribution. PNG, WebP, AVIF, PDF and TIFF exports do not write back original EXIF. Originals stay untouched until you convert.
